Please note that the SIBG recording area boundary has been revised, the new boundary will be effective from the 1 January 2018. The current and revised boundary maps can be seen on the SITE INFORMATION page.

The main changes are the removal of the area of industrial/commercial development to the west of Skelton Lake, the removal of Bell Wood and some of Templenewsam park, the addition of Menagerie Ponds in Templenewsam and the addition of the area north of Main Street and west of Pit Lane in Methley (the old Savile Mine area which is included in the RSPB licence).

Directions for the Two Pointers

From the end of Fleet Lane by Lidl supermarket follow the Aberford Road (A642)
to Garforth/Aberford (North West) for about 1000 yds.
The road drops down to a railway bridge over the road (if you reach the canal/river crossings you have gone too far).
Immediately before the railway bridge turn left into Station Lane, up the hill for 500 yds
and the Two Pointers is on the right – car parking at the rear.

The Wetland Bird Survey (WeBS)

Please note that on the following days (all Sundays) several members of the Group carry

out a WeBS count for the BTO, this may cause some wildlife disturbance in some areas
